Miguel Barbosa is the investment director of the Tourism Division of Portugal Ventures. He has over 20 years of experience in venture capital and private equity. Having worked in consulting and telecommunications, he also was part of the restructuring of the largest Portuguese group in the agri-food sector. Besides these fields, his areas of expertise include tourism, hardware, IoT, and industrial products.

Miguel also served as a professor at ISTCE – Lisbon University Institute. He holds a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico and an MBA from Nova University Lisbon as well as a master’s degree in Investment Strategy and Internationalization in addition to being a graduate of the Advanced Management Program for Tourism (PAGETUR) at the Catholic University of Portugal.
